Okay so it’s almost 2021 but I still want to get a list of my favourite’s from 2019 out into the world! Here we go!

BABIES | Taking Cara Babies

I have a 5 year old and an almost 1.5 year old and neither of them slept. With my first baby I thought sleep training was evil and the thought of letting my baby cry it out was just torture. With my second baby I started sleep training at exactly 5 months old because I’m pretty sure I was literally dying of sleep deprivation and my sanity was worth listening to a night or two of tears. I wish I would have known about @takingcarababies before I gave birth! Her program is definitely worth it, and even if you don’t purchase anything, at least follow her on instagram and check out her website; SO any helpful tips!

PELVIC FLOOR HEALTH | Nova Physio | Lynne Gagnon

Whether you’ve had a baby recently or years ago, or maybe you haven’t had a baby but have other things going on in your lady region, pelvic floor physiotherapy is a must! WHY IS IT NOT JUST A PART OF POSTPARTUM CARE?! If you live in Winnipeg or the surrounding area (Lynne shows her beautiful face in Steinbach once a week as well) do yourself a favour and make an appointment. Lynne is incredibly professional and friendly and most importantly you WILL get results!

BOOK | Marie Kondo | the life-changing magic of tidying up

If you love being organized or need to get organized, this book is for you! Although I did not thank every item I removed from my home for it’s purpose in my life, this book totally got me motivated and helped me declutter!

TUB SAVER | TubShroom

I shed a lot in general but especially after having my babies! I went through a phase of extreme hair loss. It’s disgusting how much hair this thing would catch, yet satisfying all at the same time. It works! (I purchased on amazon)

BEAUTY | BeautyCounter

I’m always on the hunt for safer, cleaner products that actually work and this company checks all of the boxes! No, not every product has been revolutionary, but I absolutely love the Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation, the Lengthening Mascara and the Sheer Lipstick. If you can’t tell from that list of products, I do not like a heavy makeup look and this line gives me just what I need. (and although you can buy through a representative it is NOT a MLM company!)

BABY TOY | pipSquigz

These little gems came in so handy! They suction to a table or wall and keep your little one occupied long enough that you can maybe actually change their diaper instead of wrestling with a poo covered alligator. You’re welcome! (I bought on amazon)

COFFEE | Fluid Bean Coffee Roasters

My husband makes me a delicious latte every morning with our Gaggia Classic and we have tried a multitude of different beans. We love supporting local businesses and the Guatemalan Fair Trade beans from Fluid Bean Coffee Roasters is by far our favourite option, locally owned and operated by Lyonel Peters. He is also my Mom’s cousin because Steinbach. Available at Main Bread & Butter, Old Church Bakery and Good ’n’ Natural.

CHIROPRACTOR | Ben Townsend | Dynamic Chiropractic & Sports Therapy

I wasn’t much of a believer in chiropractors before Ben. I was given the name of a chiropractor in town to see after I gave birth to my first child and after a few appointments decided to stop going as I was not getting any results yet was told I needed to have a weekly appointment. A few weeks after I had my second child my back and neck seized up so badly, it was almost more painful than actually giving birth! I made an appointment with Ben and he went out of his way to see me on a Sunday. Between the adjustments and also acupuncture I was back to normal in no time! He is super friendly and professional and I recommend him to anyone and everyone!

MOVIES |

Just a few movies I discovered this year that I loved! Chef, Kodachrome, and Peanut Butter Falcon.

HAIR | Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer

If you know me you know that I am not a big spender. I researched this product and asked a lot of stylists for their opinion before adding it to my cart and waiting for a sale. Totally worth it, I love this thing! It dries my hair way faster, it’s quieter, and much easier to hold than your average dryer (I bought at sephora). I also have strong feelings towards my Dyson vacuum.

HAIR | Power Dry Me by Design.ME

A stylist friend of mine gave this to me to try out and I am thoroughly impressed! I can’t say how good or bad it is for your hair but what I can say is my hair does dry faster and and is nice and smooth afterwards! Available in town at Shimmer Hair Design, or on amazon.

FOOD BLOG | Ambitious Kitchen

I’ve found quite a few recipes on this site that have been keepers! Two of my favourites are “The Best Healthy Turkey Chili” and “Cheddar-stuffed Sweet Potato BBQ Turkey Meatloaf”. Check it out!

RESTAURANT | Harth Mozza & Wine Bar

I have so many good things to say about this restaurant! First of all, the location is great. Although going downtown or to the Exchange for supper is fun, Harth is located on St. Anne’s Road near the perimeter which means a quick trip in and out for us Steinbacher’s, plus no need to look for parking! Each time we have been there the food has been fantastic and the service even better. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable with wine pairings and food suggestions. Go now!

SHORTCUT | Snip Tool

You guys. Have you found the snip tool on your PC? I don’t think it’s on Macs. It has changed my life at work. No more screen shots and cropping!

BOOK | The Moment of Lift by Melinda Gates

This book is so interesting, heartbreaking and inspirational all at the same time. Melinda Gates is doing some amazing work!

DECOR | Harpley Creations

My beautiful and talented friend Ashley started Harpley Creations where she designs and creates handmade rustic signs, available in all different sizes and styles!
